Steve architected a set of highly distributed organizations that relied on too much trust and confidence in the maturity of others, and too little practical oversight and accountability where and when needed.
While gathered this weekend to pray for his soul and recount his life, there is a massive opportunity for those who continue his legacy to incorporate some time to more broadly acknowledge failings, continue to seek repentance, and publicly apologize for the times by action or inaction they failed to love their neighbors and protect the vulnerable.
May God, the authority above any human authority and who ordered the universe above any order conceived by man, have mercy on his soul.
